Deckie's Ear
Oct 12, 2006 at 07:41 AM
For the past few weeks, Deckie, our four-year old alpha boy, has been  intermittently shaking his ear as if something's inside of it. He'll rub his head against the furniture, stop, shakes his head, usually turns in a circle & then quickly scoots to another chair or the sofa & rubs it again. We looked inside to see if there was something foreign present but all looked well. We though tit might be an errant hair or two that settled into his ear canal after a trim but once again couldn't see anything when we looked.

So, on Monday, 10/9/06, we took a trip to our Vet's office so he could take a look @ Deckie's ear. The trip was uneventful, as was the physical examination on the dog. Ear drop were prescribed and we were a bit concerned that Deckie would take issue at havig his ear subjected to the foreign treatment. He's the type of dog that's very dramatic; by this I mean he makes a big deal out of any treatment or inspectionn that's performed on him. For instance, when he first came into our family, a physical exam was performed on him to be certain everything was O.K. You'd a thought he was being manhandled or tortured by the howls and yips that emitted from the little fellow as the Vet went through his actions!

However, we were much surprised when he didn't toss or make a fuss of any capacity when the drop were introduced to his person.

So, Deckie seems O.K.
