What We Saw at the Trenton Dog Show
May 08, 2006 at 01:06 PM
On Sunday, 5/7/06, we packed our three Shetland Sheepdogs (Lily, Lyric and Declan), our tri-colored Collie (Douglas) and an assortment of food stuffs, picnic parephenalia and amentities we'd never be able to use on a mere six-hour trip into our trusty GMC Safari van and treked off to Trenton, NJ to visit one of the largest dog shows in the USA.

Was it worth the price of admission? You betcha!

Read on...

We arrived at the venerable park around 10:30 a.m., just in time to note that we missed the Shelties who had just finished in Ring #10! Talk about timimg!

Anyway, we weren't fazed in the least since we were surrounded by "dog people," that sub set (not in a negative sense, by any stretch of the imagination!) of humanity who quite simply loves our furry friends. There was food, vendors selling everything from chewies to clothing to lawn ornaments made of wood or metal, an obediance trial where the son of a co-worker of mine won 4th place, wonderful weather and some poop here and there.

But the pièce de résistance, as the French say, was when Douglas, our one year old Collie, met his human birth mother and father. More details to come on this absolutely precious story; you're gonna love it, I assure you!
