Our next tome will be on the personalities of our three Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties) and Collie. Here's a brief outline of what we'll be discussing: - Lyric - (1st in picture) 7+ years old Sheltie. Bossy, serious, alpha wanna-be, distinguished, former show dog. Given to us by our breeder, she previously lived in a house with many other Shelties. Extremely pack smart & can handle herself.
- Lily - (2nd in picture) 4 years old Sheltie, a.k.a. "Hammerhead." Shy, cute, loveable, couldn't care less for strangers (defined as anyone invading her space who is not a member of her family). Extremely agile.
- Declan - (3rd in picture) 3 years old Sheltie. the Little King. True alpha, rules the pack. A pocket rocket.
- Douglas - almost 1 year old Collie. Alias "The Goofball." Happy-go-lucky, doesn't have a care in the world. Only emotions he exhibits are happiness or fear. Fast as a racehorse. Most serious flaw is that his elongated snout causes water he attempts to drink to cascade out of his mouth, causing constant flooding fears in our home.
(BTW, please note nicknames assigned to dogs are from the author and are sometimes frowned upon by the real alpha in our family, a.k.a. my bride.)
Following are some other traits, nuances and peculiarities of our pack...
Please check back later. We'll be developing the rest of this article over the next few hours/days. It'll definitely be worth reading! |
