Vacation Time
Apr 12, 2006 at 07:56 PM
Well, it's a bit of a vacation for me. I'm scheduled to re-paint our picket fence that's beginning to show some wear. The picture highlighted in the prior sentence isn't our fence, but as it seemingly fades off into the distance, too far for the human eye to see its end, it reminded me of the job I had at hand when I played Michelangelo outdoors.

Oddly enough, at least part of said wear & tear is actually attributable to the four members of the herding group that share our living quarters (a.k.a., den) with us. I'll share details with all in a few days after I manage to clean these damn gobs of paint off my fingers and hands...

Well, here it is a couple of days after our painting project has been completed & paint's been cleaned off me hands. And, we washed the faint sheen of white paint that magically appeared on our tri-color Collie named Douglas (a.k.a. Douggie) when he wandered too close to a couple of newly painted pickets. His behavior is not unusual for members of our pack, as each of our three Shelties have had similar mishaps over the years as we've attempted to paint walls, rooms, fences, etc.

They're somehow attracted to painted surfaces, these dogs. Why? We just don't know. Guess it's one of those (sweet) mysteries of life. We're thinking of having suits made for our friends so they can brush up against the painted surfaces without getting anything on their coats.

Yeah, right!
