Dog Crate II
Mar 07, 2009 at 09:23 AM

As mentioned in the blog immediately below this one, we just bought an (almost) brand-new, gigantic dog crate from some guy on Craog's List. It's probably gonna be for our big, tri-color collie named Dougie, here seen using his very proficient olfactory senses as he tracks some interesting smell in the Presto Dog pasture land:

The crate itself can be seen below. You'll also see Declan, our li'l alpha dog, whom I persuaded to stand still for a few seconds so you could get some perspective as to the size of said crate. I think you'll agree it's about twice the height of a Shetland Sheepdog so it should easily accomodate the tremendous bulk of Dougie:

BTW, I should also mention that as I'm witing this blog, Declan is cuddled up right next to me on the couch.

We're probably going to clean the crate later today (if not tomorrow) , and Dougie should be able to use his new abode pretty soon. I'll let you know how this works out.

As a final note, we're gonna take Declan to a place called the K9jym this afternoon. It's a place just for dogs (and their owners) where various agility equipment such as:

  • jumps
  • tunnels
  • chutes
  • weave poles
  • teeters
  • pause (paws!) tables
  • A-frames

...are all available for use for a small fee. Declan is a maniac, turning fast, furious circles when he gets excited. We were told a couple of years ago that if he was trained properly, he'd be a great agility dog.Well, we never got around to "training him properly," at least in the competitive definition of the sport, but he still enjoys using the equipment I built for this purpose here at the Presto Dog world headquarters.

I'll be taking the trusty ol' camera with me later and am certain to snap a few shots of the little guy going through his paces. Stop backto check 'em out!
