Dog Crate
Mar 06, 2009 at 07:17 PM

The wonderful Presto Dog First Lady was searchin' around Craig's List the other evening and came across an item that we simply couldn't resist. See, it was a large, giganto-sized dog crate.

One of the Presto Dog canines happens to be a tri-color Collie named Dougie. I always call him a good egg, 'cause he has such a gentle, loving dispostition. I really don't think he has a single bad or nasty bone in his body. Here's a picture of our pal Dougie:

As a rule, we always crate our pack when we leave the home. I know some folks think this isn't a good idea, and neither did I...at least for a very short time. After watching their behavior (and understanding their personalities), I soon learned that our dogs liked the security that a crate supplies to 'em when we're not around. So, as that old Monkees soong from the '70 exhorts, now "I'm a believer."

This brings us to the subject of this blog. Last night we went out to the residence of the guy who had advertised the crate on Craig's list. It was only about five miles from where we live so we went rto his place ight after I got home from work. A mere half-hour or so later we had the giant-sized crate in our garage. We need to was it out to make sure nothing communicable is passed on to our pack, but that'll be a breeze, I'm sure. We plan to hook up a hose to our water heater, run it through the basement, out the back door & out into the Presto Dog pasture land:

... that should be pretty well cleared of the snow that fell a few days ago by tomorrow. (Now, please note we won't be running the hose all the way down to those trees down the hill that you see!) When all is said and done, Dogie's gonna have an (almost) brand-new crate to rest his bones in.

So, after it's all cleaned up, I'll be posting a couple of pictures here at the Presto Dog web site for everyone to see. stop back tomorrow and take a peek!
