Macungie, PA Dog Show
Sep 13, 2008 at 08:51 AM

As the title of this post indicates, we'll be traveling to Macungie, PA later this morning to let Maggie, our Shetland Sheepdog show dog, do her thing in the ring. We're patiently waiting for her coat to develop more fully, as she hasn't fared too well competing against other Shelties lately.

See, the coats of the other dogs her age are filling out very nicely. Maggie's has been slow to develop for some reason. Now, we're really not too worried about this predicament 'cause we've had other dogs that experienced similar "hard times" with coats. But after a while they grew in as they were supposed to. Here's a picture of Lily, our Sheltie that at one time had a skimpy coat:

So, Magiie's gonna be O.K. It's just that when she's in the ring, judges are l(of course) looking for dogs with coats appropriate for the breed. And Maggie just ain't cutting it in that area yet, folks!

e've even developed a mantra that we sometimes chant to maggie when she's walking through the house or otherwise just enjoying herself out in the Presto Dog Phunny Pharm pasture land. It goes something like this:

"Grow hair. Grow hair. Grow hair."

I'll be taking some pictures at the Macungie dog show later and will try to get 'em up here on this web site for your viwing pleasure.
