As the title of this little blog reflects, I have nothing to report in the world of dogs. No shows, no pithy anecdotes, no funny stories, no fights/altercations between any of our canines to write about. Yet, I have this compelling urge to put something out here for the Presto Dog faithful, a few words you can wrap you eyes around, some drivel that might give you pause in an otherwise all-too hectic world. So I'm gonna keep pounding away until something of substance flows from these little digits on the ends on my hands onto the keys of our precious P/C. Wait, I've got it! Here it comes... Our trusty team of five canines (four Shelties & a tri-color Collie named Dougie) are all gathered around me in various stages of rest & contentment. Lyric, our senior Sheltie at nine years of age, is sleeping behind me as I click away at the keyboard. Lily, the sweet one, is up on our loveseat, also catching a few winks. Declan is at my feet, probably guarding me since that's his assigned duty as the alpha dog of our pack. Dougie is on the couch, his huge bulk gobbling up two entire seat cushions as he dreams away about the birds he's always looking for when we go outside. And Maggie, the show dog, is presently resting quite comfortably up on our bed, catching up on her beauty sleep. BTW, no dog shows for the li'l Magpie (as I fondly refer to Maggie) until 9/4- and 9/5/08. More about her escapades in those venues are sure to follow in a future post. Here's a picture of Maggie & her best friend Dougie in full sleeping mode a few evenings ago: Maggie & Dougie There's a gentle rain falling outside right now & I just had the whole pack to do their business. I must confess there's no smell of "dog" in our house because the Presto Dog First Lady takes impeccable care of our friends...they're clean. Since it's early evening we'll be making one more trip outside before we all bed down for the night. When lights finally go out the pack'll all be gathered around our bed, with at least one of 'em sleeping right along side of us in our bed. With the weekend starting less than a day away, it's only a mere few hours until the pack starts staring up at me every few moments in the hopes I'll cave, immediately drop what I'm doing and take 'em all out to the Presto Dog pasture land to run around and play.
