On Sunday , 8/3/08, we'll be packing up our trusty ol' van and traveling to the Hunterdon Fairgrounds in Ringoes, NJ to participate in the Hunterdon Hills Kennel Club dog show. We figure it'll take us about a half hour to 45 minutes to get to the place so it'll be one of the quicker trips we'll make to a show this summer. I'll be taking along my usual bevy of snacks, usually consisting of a box of Cheez-Its, a sandwich, a couple of cans of soda, and perhaps even some sharp cheddar cheese and Triscuit crackers. That satifies me, since we pack separate treats for our dog, Maggie. And the Presto Dog First Lady brings along her own food, usually much healthier & nutritious than the stuff I bring along. She likes turkey meatballs lately, so we bring four or five along for her. They're used as "bait," which simply means they are held in front of her face and her attention is therefore rivited on the food she's trying to somehow get in her mouth. It's sort of like the salary you earn if you do your job We also make sure there's enough water for Maggie. We have a large blue, plastic jug we fillwith ice & water that she appreciates after trudging around in the ring on a hot day. Here's a picture of it with our tri-color Collie Dougie walking to the right & Lyric, our senior Sheltie, under the table: Water Jug We'll certainly post some pictures of Maggie's adventure after we return from the show next weekend. Between now & then, I'll try to take a few shots of the rest of the Presto Dog canines as they frolic in their pasture land.
