We went to a dog show on Sarturday, 7/12/08. Maggie didn't fare too well in that some other dog that we felt was not as beautiful as our furry friend took first place. But that's show life as we repeatedly tell ourselves.

Our friends entered their Sheltie, Eve, in the show. Here's the pretty girl standing on the judge's table being inspected:

The whole process of getting ready for the show can be a little draining on Maggie. She needs to be combed, groomed and show her stuff in the ring. This can take hours and she's a bit tired by the end of the day. Many times we'll go home after  long day and she'll find a comfortable place to crash...she'll sleep for hours.

But after yesterday's show she didn't do her sleep routine when we went home. She remained alert & played with the other dogs for several hours. But when evening came, she did climb up on the couch and fall asleep. Oddly enough, she decided to sleep next to her best friend, Dougie, our three year old tri-color Collie.

As you can see, these two are inseparable. They romp and play together all day. Sometimes they get a little too boisterous and we need to break up their rough antics. But for the most part they have a blast together.
