On Sunday, 9/16/07, we were present when a wonderful Shetland Sheepdog named Chase earned the coveted title of champion!

It was a beautiful fall-like day, the sun gleaming & temperatures quite pleasant as we loaded into the van and set out for the show. We drove about 30 minutes or so, arrived at the place, paid the attrocious $2.00 entry fee, parked the vehicle and in no time were among our favorite kind of folk-dog people!

The show bustled with the usual activities: handlers baiting dogs to warm them up for the ring, crowds milling about from one tent to the next, checking out the dogs and owners grooming their pups, anxiously waiting their turns to show their happy charges to the judges.

We made our way to the tent where the Shelties were being show and quickly found our friend and breeder, Bernie. Her dog, Chase, needed a final point to earn his championship. And, we're proud to say, we witnessed the bestowing of that point that made Chase a champion!
