We just returned from our weekend outing with our dogs (see the "Weekend Canine Adventure" post immediately below this one). Our stops included a local animal hospital where we picked up some maintenance medication for Lyric, two county parks (one had no snow-free trails; the other we explored as its trails were passable) and an eventual retreat to a fast-food restaurant because it was so cold & windy outside we light-weight humans needed to seek something to eat instead of experiencing any additional discomfort.
But, let me first say that the motion of the car on all of our trips was the downfall once again for Dougie, our tri-color Collie. We had thought/hoped that the anti-nausea pills we had given to the dog before the start of our trip would make him comfortable, but that wasn't going to happen today. The extra foam padding we brought along for Dougie's crate came to good use as we had to stop and update his mobile abode (a.k.a."crate") after he re-visited his breakfast.
Next time, we're gonna increase his medication just one more time, per the advise of our vet. If that doesn't work, we'll need to explore some other meds that might work. Our experience in a barf-a-torium on wheels has simply got to come to an end!
