Declan & the Van Trip
Jan 16, 2007 at 12:37 PM
On Monday, 1/15/07, we went for a long van ride to handle some important family business. By long ride I'm referring to the fact that we had to go about 80+ miles each way. There was no way we could take all four of our dogs with us, especially since the big one, Dougie the Collie, has a tendency to get car sick. But we did bring Declan, our little alpha dog, along with us:

He was a good boy, which for automobile purposes translates into no crying, barking & perhaps most importantly to his companions in the car, no barfing. He was as quiet as a Navy Seal on a covert operation.

Anyway, we arrived at our destination and he accompanied us about our business, acting very calm and dignified. The folks we went to visit weren't necessarily "dog people" but weren't at all put off by any actions on the part of our extremely well-behaved Shetland Sheepdog. But, all our pack is well-behaved...that is unless you catch 'em when they're playing together outside and all hell is breaking loose!

Here's a picture of the whole Presto Dog pack, consisting of Dougie (the aforementioned barfer), Lily, Lyric and Declan:

'Tis such a fine clan!
