In the corner of our yard we have a small seasonal flag pole from which we hang, well, flags that celebrate the seasons...Halloween, Thansgiving, Christmas, etc. Over this past weekend, two of our three Shelties, Declan (a.k.a. Deckie) and Lily, were congregting around the flag for some unknown reason. The semi-world famous Presto Dog photographer snapped a shot of the two dogs in question, capturing forever in time the inquisitive nature of the two pack members, surveying their environment to be certain everything is in place and hasn't been disturbed. As proof of this, note that they're both looking in different directions to make sure all lines of sight are covered by their whithering stares!
 Deckie & Lily: Shelties
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with our dogs, that's Declan in the background (by the flag) and Lily up closer to our aqua colored pause table, used for canine agility training, of course. The pause table, by the way, is a place of refuge for Dougie, our tri-color Collie. He usually hops up on it to escape from Deckie when he chases him around the yard. But you gotta see this to believe this 'cause he's able to jump up onto it from what seems to be a dead run and come to a complete stop before sliding off the other side of it. But, considering that Declan's trying to nip him if he could only catch him, perhaps the concept of self-preservation is impetus enough to perform a miracle (or temporarilly suspend the laws of physics), at least for poor Dougie's sake. For all you Shetland Sheepdog lovers/owners, if you place your cursor over the Sheltie Talk line below, you'll see the publication that's considered the Sheltie Bible: Sheltie Talk It's the one we here at Presto Dog purchased a number of years ago when our first Sheltie came to live with us. She's gone now, but will never, ever be forgotten. Miss you, my Molly Girl.
