The Pack's New Watering Station |

When we (i.e., the pack and myself) go outside to our yard, we take the time to do our business. (That is they do thier dusiness outside; I still enjoy using indoor facilities, thank you so very much.) Once that's over with, we generally play for a while. Playtime generally consists of fetching sticks (Dougie's favorite), chasing balls I kick or any other activity that involves some kind of running. This, in turn, means the pack gets thirsty and needs refreshment. Now that the winter season's upon us here on the East coast, we don't have our usual drinking stations set up on our deck. These consisted of up to four plastic water dishes placed strategically so that Sheltie or Collie is able, at any time, to quench their thirst. But the pack doesn't want to hear that their dishes of water might freeze over or that Christmas decoration now infringe on the areas previously allocated for their water dishes. They do, however, search around if we don't bring water out for 'em to drink in a time they think is appropriateIn fact, they even take matters into their own hands (er, paws). Here's apicture I took showing Dougie, our tri-color Collie and Lily, with back to camera, watching Declan, the alpha dog, trying to get a drink out of the garden watering can we sometimes fillfor yard work: Dougie, Lily & Deckie at Watering Can
