Deckie's Break from Agility Training
We had Deckie out this morning for a little agility training on our weave poles, jumps, etc. When we saw he was a bit tired, we gave him a rest. But, I decided we'd use the break for a photo op.
The result was the picture below, showing our little alpha dog in Santa's sled on the front lawn:

In a couple of days, I'm gonna post our dogs' Christmas lists here on Presto Dog. At this moment, they're busy in the other room jotting down the specific chewies, toys and assorted other goodies they expect Santa to place under the tree for them. Who knows...maybe they'll want new agility weave poles & jumps? Perhaps you'll be able to glean some ideas for your pup by reading what our pack wants to see Santa leave for them?

Come on back & check out their efforts in a couple of days. Better yet, keep coming back each & every day and check out the new stories and pictures we post here. Better still, why not come back every few hours?

And, here's a second shot of Deckie (a.k.a., Declan) lounging in Santa's sled, continuing his break from his agility weave pole training:

Canine Agility
I haven't posted anything here at Presto Dog in a few days because I've been devoting my time to the site's agility equipment section.
On the left side of this screen, over near the top, are Presto Dog's menu selection. Like most Internet sites, clicking on one of those menu items takes you to another area of the web site where you'll be presented with another area of our site.
Click on the AGILITY ITEMS menu tab and then scroll down. You'll see the items we're selling here on Presto Dog to our readers. At the bottom of each item, click on the line that says "Click here to purchase a Single (Double, Triple, etc.) Agility Jump" and you'll be whooshed to the shopping cart area where you can buy the piece of equipment. And, we've set it up so it'll accept PayPal for ease of use! So, if you have an eBay account you'll find using our shopping cart a breeze. Discounts are available to folks making more than one purchase.

Take note of our site today. Presto Dog will become a mover and shaker in the canine agility equipment arena...that's the goal we're shooting for and will attain...but only with your help. Come back often, check out our stories, pictures, & ramblings about the world of Dogs. Why not bookmark our site and/or tell your friends about Presto Dog? Perhaps you belong to a dog club that would like to be featured on our site? Contact us by clicking on the Contact Presto Dog menu tab. As long as I can spare the time, I can even help in writing the actual article for your club. Is there a better deal out there?

Wanna get a picture of your dog here on Presto Dog? Contact us and we'll try to see if we can get that great digital shot here so all the world can see your pup!

The quality canine agility weave poles, jumps and other items we produce are availalble to our customers at discount prices. In a few weeks, you'll also be able to read articles, training tips and other materials that'll offer advise on how to train, groom, or simply hang out with your dog.

Stay tuned for more details, and come back often. We love our readers!

And for your viewing pleasure, here's a picture taken a while ago of a few of our breeder's Shetland Sheepdogs. The kennel name is Bernbrite, the dogs are simply wonderful, and we've been the proud owners of three of her dogs over the years:

New Furniture Causes Problems
We recently purchase a new piece of living room furniture that has caused a bit of an upset in the lives of our  three "just so" Shetland Sheepdogs:

Lyric, Lily & Deckie on Agility Training Pause Table
Lyric, Lily & Declan on Agility Pause Table

I refer to our Sheltie contingent as just so dogs because furniture arrangement in our house as well as agility equipment out in our yard must remain the same as it was or confusion and disharmony will descend on their precious little lives.
For instance, if their crates (click to read about a vet's view on whether or not you should crate your pooch) needs to be cleaned, heaven forbid they're around to see them dismantled or moved out of their usual positions! You'd think we were re-routing Niagara Falls based on their reactions...generally consisting of incessant barking, turning in circles and otherwise behaving in what my beautiful bride refers to as a "bratty manner." The same holds true if their weave poles, tire jump, pause table or agility jumps are re-positioned outside. To Shelties, change is evil, change is bad!
Anyway, back to the new furniture fiasco. We bought a recliner for our living room that replace a love seat. The latter had its back near a bay window in our house & was positioned in such a manner that the Shelties could jump up on the seat, then hop up onto the back of the piece of furniture and rest between it and the ledge from the bay window, thus providing an excellent vantage point from which they could survey the happenings in our neighborhood...all from the comfort of their home.
Now, with the chair gone, they can't see out their window. When I sit (recline?) in the recliner, at least one of the Shelties usually comes up to me and gives me their "moon eyes," a.k.a. pitiful look, that prompts me to pick him/her up and place 'em on the ledge itself. It's just about large enough to accommodate their girth so it's not a problem. We have a set of little strairs given to us by a neighbor that lets the Shelties climb down when they're done scoping out the environs. We've also ordered another set of stairs from some place that's taken ages to deliver them to us; hopefully this latter set will be larger & sturdier 'cause the dogs really don't like to use 'em.
